My Dedication Page

This is a page, dedicated to my "Daddy". He was a very special man, and he meant the world to me. He gave me a wonderful life and worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. Him and my mom would have celebrated their "63rd" wedding anniversary in October of 2004. He helped raise a beautiful family, 4 sons and 3 daughters. Me being the baby of the family.*smile*
He retired from the coal mines in 1987. A few months later, we found out he had prostate cancer. He had surgery in January of 1988 and the doctors said they got it all. But a few years later, we would learn that the cancer had spread to his bones. He fought a long and hard battle with this disease but never gave up hope. No matter how bad he felt, he never complained.
I moved back home in 1996 to help mom take care of him, not knowing that I would only have a few months to be with him. I savored every minute I had with him. I saw him every day and what precious days they were.
Then, in July of 1997 he became too weak to walk. He couldnt even come to my daughters 6th birthday party. He went into the hospital on July 5, 1997 and died on July 8, 1997. Not a minute goes by that I don't miss him. He was loved by everyone he ever met. Daddy, I know you are here with me, my guardian Angel. Just remember how much I love you!! This page is for you!!! XOXOXOXOXO Jenny
My aunt Beulah wrote her brother a poem after his death. It's a wonderful summation of what my Dad meant to her and alot of other people. Click if you want to read this tribute.

This poem was created for me by one of the most wonderful people I know Danielle

    ~IN LOVING MEMORY~
You must spread your wings and fly,
    your soul is finally free.
    The burdens of this world,
    have drifted out to sea.
I miss you so much daddy,
every day without you is so long.
But the faith I have in God,
    will help me carry on.
And I will always love you,
you are safe within my heart.
    Although I cannot see you,
    we will never be apart.
I close my eyes and you are there,
    keeping me safe and warm.
    Your gentle spirit shining bright,
    guiding me through this storm...
I'll never forget how you lived,
and that will be my guide.
You are now my guardian angel,
    and always by my side.
~your loving memory lives on in all those your life touched.~

This is a special poem I found on a very special page.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me"
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
